To identify a bird means to recognize its species, based on the knowledge of those features by which it differs from closely related ones. This ability lies in the heart of birding. You can learn how to identify birds yourself, or you can participate our training course.

To date, not only a serious technological base, but also a growing community of birders contributes to the independent identification of birds. First you need binoculars, a Bird ID mobile app or guide-book and your desire. Start with the surroundings of your home or workplace and practice memorizing bird features and finding them through an app or book. After you have identified the bird yourself, check your version among like-minders.

Most often you will meet a Great Tit, Hodded Crow, Magpie, Jackdaw, House Sparrow, Blackbird, Redstart, Swallow, and White wagtail. These species you need to know first. After you have learned and seen all the surrounding birds, you can expand the geography of birding. Think about where you can go in the vicinity of your city or village, see what species of birds live in your province, learn their distinctive features and continue to discover the amazing world of birds.
